The River State Government is said to have commenced construction of a new hostel and staff quarters at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area.

NYSC Rivers State coordinator, Mr. Sunday Aroni disclosed this to newsmen during the swearing-in ceremony of the NYSC 2017 Batch B stream 1 Corps Members at the orientation camp today.

Mr. Aroni said that the project consists of four blocks of hostel for corps members, three units of four-bedroom apartments for camp officials, a new kitchen and a multipurpose hall expansion.

"All these are meant to improve on the welfare of corps members and camp officials on camp, and interestingly, these projects which started two weeks ago, are already at advanced stages," Aroni commented.

The NYSC State coordinator appreciated Gov. Nyesom Wike's administration for the kindness and generosity to the scheme and also congratulated the governor on his award of "Global Human Settlements Outstanding Contribution" in New York, U.S.

The Oath of Allegiance was administered on 2,502 Corps Members at the swearing-in ceremony in Rivers State Orientation Camp.
