The National Examination Council - NECO has announced the release of Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results for 2017 November/December.

NECO Registrar, Professor Charles Uwakwe, announced at its headquarters in Minna that a total of 42, 985‎ candidates registered for the examination and 42, 429 wrote the examination in 28 subjects.

Prof Uwakwe revealed that 56.79 percent of the candidates had five credits and above (i.e 24, 098 candidates)

NECO Releases 2017 Nov/Dec SSCE (External) Results

NECO informed that the results were released on time to allow candidates use them for admission in the 2017/2018 academic session.

“It will please the general public to know that this is the first time the council is releasing result of Nov/Dec ‎SSCE results barely 38 days after the test.”

“The early and timely release of the 2017 Nov/Dec SSCE result is in line with the council new work ethos that borders on efficient service delivery,” Prof Uwakwe commented.

Mr. Uwakwe attributed the success of releasing the result early to deployment of improved logistics that ensured appropriate standards.

Other 2017 NECO Results statistics as revealed by the council's Registrar are:

32, 917 candidates (77.58%) had five credits irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.

32, 701 candidates (78.82%) had credit and above in Mathematics‎.

29, 258 candidates (70%) had credits and above in English Language.

4,425 candidates (10.43%) were involved in examination malpractice.

The registrar noted that the number represented ‎5.9 per cent reduction in examination malpractice compared to 2016 record.


How to Check NECO SSCE (External) 2017 Result

Candidates who took part in the 2017 NECO SSCE can check their result by following these steps:

  1. Visit NECO result checker portal
  2. Select your Examination Type
  3. Select Year of Examination
  4. Enter your card PIN number
  5. Enter your Examination Number
  6. Click on Check My Result button

Note: NECO Result Card is N300 only and it's available in all NECO offices.

With correct details, your result will be displayed. You can also email or print your result.
